Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of evot.io. By signing in, you agree to them — if you don't, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

evot.io is a thinking workspace: you record thoughts as cells, organize them into logs, and hand them to AI character agents ("Vots") that expand them, collect information from the web, and run scheduled routines for you. We develop the Service actively, so features change over time.

2. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You're responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping that Google account secure. You must be at least 14 years old. One person, one account — accounts created mainly to collect extra free credits may be suspended.

3. Plans and billing

evot.io offers a free plan and paid plans. Only monthly billing is on sale right now; if we start selling annual plans we'll say so on the pricing page. Polar Software, Inc. is our Merchant of Record: Polar sells the subscription to you, issues the invoice, and collects any applicable tax. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Prices are listed in US dollars, and tax is applied based on where you are. If we change the price of a plan you're on, we'll tell you at least 30 days beforehand and the new price applies from your next renewal.

4. Credits

AI features consume credits, deducted from your balance when the action completes. Plan credits are granted in full when a billing period begins — they are not released day by day — and spending them is consumption of that period's service. They expire at the end of the period unless your plan carries them over. Earned credits expire 90 days after they're granted. Purchased credits don't expire. Credits are always spent in that order: plan, earned, purchased. Credits are a metering unit, not money. They have no cash value, can't be transferred between accounts, and can't be exchanged for cash except as set out in the Refund Policy. If your balance runs out, AI features stop until it's topped up or your next cycle begins.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel anytime from Settings › Billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for. Spending credits starts delivery of digital content that can't be returned. Refunds are limited to what our Refund Policy allows — please read it before you pay. The Refund Policy forms part of these Terms.

6. Your content

Everything you create or upload — cells, logs, Vots, files, knowledge — stays yours. You grant us only the licence we need to run the Service: to store, back up, process, and display that content to you, and to send the relevant parts to AI providers when you ask a Vot to act. evot.io does not use your content to train AI models. The providers that serve your requests process it under their own terms; they're listed in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for having the rights to what you upload and collect, and for how you use what a Vot produces.

7. Publishing — Vot Hub, public sims and wikis

If you publish a Vot, you confirm you have the rights to everything in it, and you allow subscribers to use it for as long as they subscribe. Subscription revenue is shared with you as earned credits under the terms shown when you publish. We may unlist a Vot that breaks these Terms or a third party's rights. Publishing a simulation or a log wiki copies its content at that moment into a public page. Anyone with the link can read it without signing in, and search engines may index it. You decide what goes public and you are responsible for what you publish — the publish screen shows you the exact scope beforehand. You can unpublish at any time, which removes the public page and the files published with it. We cannot claw back copies of links already shared, or caches held by search engines and third parties. We may take down anything published that breaks these Terms or the law, or infringes a third party's rights.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use evot.io to break the law or infringe anyone's rights, upload malware, reach other users' data, or generate content designed to harass or deceive people. Don't scrape, resell, or rent the Service, reverse-engineer it, or work around plan limits, credit deductions, or rate limits — including by running multiple accounts. We may suspend accounts that do. When a Vot collects from the web on your behalf, you're responsible for respecting the source site's terms.

9. Third-party services

evot.io connects to services you choose to link — Notion, Slack, Telegram, Discord, MCP clients — and runs on providers including Google, OpenRouter, Supabase, Vercel, and Polar. Their own terms apply to their part of the experience, and we aren't responsible for their outages, changes, or decisions.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep evot.io running but can't guarantee uninterrupted access; maintenance, provider outages, and bugs happen. We may add, change, or remove features. If we permanently discontinue the Service itself while you still have paid time remaining, we'll refund the unused portion of that period — this is the one case where a refund is made outside the Refund Policy.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". AI output can be wrong, outdated, biased, or incomplete, and information collected from the web can be inaccurate — verify anything you rely on, especially for financial, legal, medical, or safety decisions. We don't warrant that the Service will meet your particular requirements.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

13. Termination

You can delete your account anytime from Settings; deletion permanently removes your content as described in the Privacy Policy, and unused credits are forfeited. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms, with notice where that's practical.

14. Changes to these Terms

We'll post any changes on this page and update the date below. For material changes we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use evot.io after a change takes effect means you accept it.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes go to the Seoul Central District Court — unless mandatory consumer protection law where you live gives you a different forum. We publish these documents in Korean and English. If the two versions differ, the Korean version governs — except where the consumer law where you live requires otherwise, in which case the version in your language governs.
