evot.io Clipper — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
evot.io Clipper is a browser extension that saves web content to your evot.io account. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles and why. It collects nothing beyond what you explicitly choose to save.
What the extension sends to evot
When you right-click a page and choose “Save selection / page / image to evot”, the extension sends only the item you selected — the highlighted text, the page’s URL and title, or the image’s URL — together with the source page URL, to your evot account. This happens only on your explicit action. The extension does not read, monitor, or transmit page content in the background, and it does not track your browsing history.
What the extension stores on your device
- A device-specific connection token, created when you connect the extension from its popup. It authenticates your save requests to evot. It is stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local), is never synced across devices, and is never shared with third parties. - Your chosen default thread (its id and title), so saves go to the right place.
Where your data goes
Saved content and connection requests are sent only to evot’s own backend, tied to your account. The extension uses no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services, and your data is never sold.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Context menus — to add the right-click “Save to evot” menu items.
- Storage — to keep your connection token and default-thread preference on your device.
- Notifications — to show whether a save succeeded or failed.
- Access to evot’s API — to deliver saved content to your account.
Retaining and deleting your data
Content you save lives in your evot account; you can delete it there at any time. You can disconnect the extension from its popup, or revoke it under evot Settings → Integrations → Extension. Either action invalidates the stored connection token immediately.
